Corfe Castle Walking Weekend 2027

No. Corfe Castle is sold as a complete weekend package and individual days cannot be booked separately. Friday’s welcome walk is optional if you can’t arrive in time, but the package price remains the same.

No. You arrange your own accommodation, giving you the freedom to camp, bring a campervan, stay at the YHA, choose a B&B or treat yourself to a hotel. We’ll provide suggested accommodation options in your Trip Plan.

Your weekend includes three guided walks, route planning and risk assessments, your digital Adventure Geek Trip Plan, pre-trip information and support, and your Adventure Geek host/walk leader throughout the weekend.

Saturday is our main challenge at approximately 12 miles, with plenty of climbs and descents along the Jurassic Coast. Sunday is much shorter at around 4.5 miles but still includes some steep sections. You should be comfortable walking over uneven and hilly terrain.

The routes have been refreshed for 2027. In particular, Saturday does not follow our traditional route via Old Harry Rocks. So even if you’ve joined us at Corfe several times before, there will be plenty of new trails to explore.

Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but owners are responsible for keeping them under appropriate control, particularly around livestock and wildlife. You’ll also need to make sure your chosen accommodation accepts dogs.

You’ll need suitable walking footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, a small daypack, food, snacks and plenty of water. A full Corfe Castle packing list will be provided before the weekend.

That’s completely up to you. There are campsites, campervan pitches, YHA accommodation, B&Bs and hotels around Corfe Castle and Swanage. We’ll include a selection of suggested accommodation options in your Trip Plan

Friday and Saturday will start from Corfe Castle. Full meeting details, timings and What3Words locations will be provided in your Trip Plan.

Sunday starts from Tyneham Village.

For Friday and Saturday, we plan to use the National Trust car park in Corfe Castle. National Trust members can park free of charge with their membership card.

Sunday parking information for Tyneham will be confirmed in your Trip Plan.

The plan is to return towards Corfe Castle using the Swanage Railway – a rather nice way to finish a 12-mile walk!

The train fare is not included in your weekend price. Final timings and details will be confirmed once the 2027 timetable is available.

We walk in most weather conditions, so please come prepared for the British weather! However, safety always comes first and the planned route may be changed if conditions make it unsuitable.

Tyneham sits within a military training area and public access is restricted at certain times. We will check the official 2027 access dates and, if Tyneham is unavailable, an alternative Sunday walk will be provided.

All routes will be personally recce'd and risk assessed before the weekend. Occasionally weather, path closures or other circumstances mean we need to make changes. If that happens, we’ll provide a suitable alternative and let you know through the Trip Plan and pre-trip communications.
