Secret trails, dramatic scenery and proper adventure in the Welsh hills.
Overview
Escape to the mountains for a long weekend of fresh air, waterfalls, hidden trails and proper adventure in the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog).
Led by experienced and fully qualified Mountain Leader Richard Jones, this flexible hiking weekend is designed to make the most of the mountains, weather and group experience rather than following a rigid commercial itinerary. Each day, routes will be carefully chosen based on conditions and the overall ability and energy of the group, allowing us to explore some of the quieter paths, hidden valleys and lesser-known gems that many visitors never discover.
Our base for the weekend is the welcoming Star Bunkhouse in the village of Bwlch, with a traditional pub conveniently located just across the road for relaxed evenings after a day on the trails. (Staying at the hostel is optional).
Plans for the weekend include exploring the iconic Pen y Fan area via quieter routes, discovering beautiful waterfall trails and enjoying a gentler recovery walk before heading home.
This trip is ideal for adventurous people who enjoy hill walking, stunning scenery, good company and a more relaxed, authentic style of guided adventure.
