The People Behind the Adventures
Adventure Geek Travel is powered by a small but passionate team who share a love of the outdoors and the spirit of adventure. Alongside the core Adventure Geek team, we work with experienced guides, mountain leaders, virtual assistants and trusted local experts who help deliver each adventure.
From planning unforgettable journeys to guiding you along spectacular trails, everyone involved shares the same goal, helping you experience incredible places in a relaxed, friendly and well-organised way.
Julia Dohertry
Julia loves a good day on the trails, usually with a Snickers in her pack for energy. Her dream adventure is to hike the Te Araroa Trail in New Zealand. A little-known fact is that she suffers from bovinophobia — a fear of cows — which can make countryside walks a little more exciting! 😄
Paul Coxon
Paul is a Mountain Leader and cycling guide who loves helping people explore the outdoors. His favourite hike is the Tour du Mont Blanc and his favourite ride is London to Paris via the Avenue Verte. When he’s not on the trails, his comfort zone is baking bread, especially sourdough, and he’s currently trying to master croissants!
Ken Harding
Ken is based on the Isle of Man and brings a wealth of guiding experience to Adventure Geek trips. His favourite trail snack is a custard doughnut, and his dream adventure is trekking through the rainforests of Borneo. A little-known fact about Ken is that he can’t swim! 😆
Sam Armstrong
Samantha lives in the Peak District and is passionate about the outdoors, leading walks and building community through adventure. Her favourite trail snack is a homemade muesli bar, and her dream adventure is spending three months travelling through remote landscapes and meaningful journeys. A little-known fact is that she is the granddaughter of the founder of Thornton’s Chocolates.
Sarah Docker
Sarah is based in Northampton and supports Adventure Geek behind the scenes with admin and organisation. She loves travelling, with Australia being a standout trip. A little-known fact is that she once wrote an assignment comparing Ancient Greek, Babylonian and Egyptian mathematics!
Richard Jones
Richard Jones is a qualified mountain leader based in Northamptonshire, but with a van and a love of the outdoors, he’s always ready to head wherever the next adventure calls. Richard enjoys helping people build confidence in the hills and discover just how much they’re capable of. When he’s not out exploring, you’ll likely find him refuelling with his favourite trail snack — avocado and peanut butter sandwiches (yes, really!). His dream? To take on all 214 Wainwright peaks in one go. And a little-known fact… he’s never owned a television.
