You’ll be walking for six consecutive days, including days of 15–17.5 miles, so good walking fitness is important. Regular longer walks before the trip are strongly recommended.

Not necessarily. People naturally settle into different walking speeds. Your Adventure Geek guide will manage the group, with regular meeting and check-in points along the route.

Expect a mixture of paths, fields, tracks, hills, steps and stiles. The central section around the Whin Sill is the most challenging.

No. Newcastle and Carlisle both have good rail connections, so this trip works very well using public transport.

Your main bag will be transferred between accommodation, leaving you to walk with just your day pack.

Yes. Please bring one main bag weighing no more than 20kg.

You’ll need waterproofs, water, food/snacks, medication and your usual walking essentials. A dedicated day-pack packing list will be provided before departure.

We walk in typical British weather, so good waterproofs are essential. Your guide may alter plans if conditions create a safety concern.

Unfortunately not. The accommodation, livestock and logistics make this particular holiday unsuitable for dogs.

There will be opportunities to see Roman remains and sites along the route, although entrance fees and visits to paid attractions are not included unless specifically stated.
