Amsterdam Christmas Markets & Lights

After meeting at London Luton Airport, we’ll fly to Amsterdam and make our way into the city by train and ferry to our private twin or single room accommodation at ClinkNOORD Hostel. (If a trendy hostel is not your thing, then please select the book your own accommodation, which significanntly reduces the price, but you will need to find your own accommodation).

Once checked in, there will be free time to explore Amsterdam’s cosy canals, quirky shops and festive atmosphere before we regroup in the evening for one of the highlights of the trip — the spectacular Amsterdam Light Festival canal cruise. Expect illuminated canals, winter lights, warm drinks and plenty of Christmas magic.

Today we immerse ourselves in the festive side of Amsterdam with a visit to the magical Christmas Village at Museumplein. Browse festive stalls, warm up with mulled wine, enjoy seasonal treats and soak up the Christmas atmosphere beneath the twinkling lights of the city.

Later in the day, we’ll head up the famous A’DAM Lookout tower for panoramic views across Amsterdam’s skyline before enjoying a relaxed burger meal together. For anyone feeling brave, there’s also the option to try Europe’s highest swing, suspended high above the city! 

Today we explore Amsterdam like the locals do — by bike!

Our relaxed guided cycle tour takes us through some of the city’s famous highlights as well as hidden corners, quirky neighbourhoods and beautiful canal-lined streets. Along the way, we’ll discover fascinating stories about Amsterdam while soaking up the buzz and atmosphere of the city.

The afternoon is free for optional sightseeing, shopping or perhaps a visit to the famous Anne Frank House.

In the evening, there is the option to join Julia for a traditional Dutch bitterballen tasting and relaxed group meal inside one of Amsterdam’s most atmospheric restaurants — complete with a resident parrot called Elvis watching over proceedings!

Today is intentionally left free for you to enjoy Amsterdam at your own pace before our evening flight home. After checking out of ClinkNOORD Hostel, there will be plenty of time for last-minute shopping, cosy cafés, canal-side wandering or revisiting your favourite parts of the city.

For anyone wanting one final Adventure Geek experience, Julia will also be leading an optional sunrise walk and geocaching trail around Amsterdam, exploring hidden corners of the city before the crowds arrive. 🧭✨

Later in the afternoon, we’ll regroup and make our way back to the airport by ferry and train for our return flight home — hopefully with full camera rolls, happy memories and a little extra Christmas spirit. 🎄✈️
