Huskies, Cosy Winter Hotels & Castles: Ultimate Winter Escape

Your adventure begins with a morning flight from the UK to Romania. On arrival, we’ll be met and transferred into the heart of Brașov, one of Transylvania’s most charming towns.

Suggested flight – 0900hrs Depart from Luton > Braşov-Ghimbav (W95399) – although some people may decide to extend their stay and fly a few days earlier. If you wanted AGT to book additional nights for you at our first hotel then let me know.

After checking into our hotel, there’s time to settle in before we head out for a relaxed evening meal together. A perfect way to kick things off and get to know the group.

After breakfast, we dive straight into Romanian folklore with a visit to the iconic Bran Castle. Explore the towers, hidden staircases and dramatic history behind this famous landmark.

In the afternoon, you’ve got a choice…
Go full adventure with an optional quad biking experience through forest trails near Brașov, or take the cable car into the mountains for lunch with incredible panoramic views.

We return to Brașov for a cosy evening and a delicious traditional Romanian dinner.

This morning is one you won’t forget in a hurry… a husky sled ride through snowy landscapes, gliding through forests with a team of excited dogs leading the way.

Later, we step back in time with a visit to Sighișoara, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval towns and the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. Expect colourful buildings, cobbled streets and plenty of photo stops.

By evening, we arrive in the beautiful city of Sibiu, where we’ll stay overnight.

Today is all about the journey… and what a journey it is.

As we head towards the mountains, we’ll stop at Bâlea Cascadă, where you can choose to ride the alpine coaster (bob sleigh) or relax with lunch and watch the skiers in action.

We then continue into the spectacular Făgăraș Mountains, taking the cable car high into the clouds to reach Bâlea Lake.

Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, this is a true winter wonderland. After time to explore, we’ll enjoy a unique mountain dining experience and settle in for a memorable night in this incredible setting.

You can choose from a range of optional activities including snowmobiling, sledging, snow tubing, ice skating, or simply relax and take it all in at your own pace.  

Whether you go full adventure or full chill, this is one of those days you’ll remember for a long time.

After a relaxed morning, we descend by cable car and begin our journey back towards the airport.

On the way, we stop at the fascinating ASTRA National Museum Complex, where traditional Romanian life is brought to life in a beautiful open-air setting.

There may also be time for one last bit of fun with an optional alpine coaster ride before we head to the airport for our return flight to the UK—tired, happy, and full of incredible memories.
