A five-day winter adventure through Iceland’s wildest landscapes
Overview
Get ready for five unforgettable days exploring the wild side of Iceland.
This small-group winter adventure takes us through some of Iceland’s most spectacular landscapes – from thundering waterfalls and bubbling geysers to black-sand beaches, glaciers and extraordinary ice caves.
We’ll start our adventure with a soak in the famous Blue Lagoon, explore the Golden Circle, and pull on our walking boots for a hike through Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.
Then we’ll head south to discover Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, walk along the incredible Diamond Beach and venture inside a glacier on a guided ice-cave adventure. We’ll also explore the wild South Coast, including Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss and Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach.
And because we’re travelling in November, we’ll be keeping one eye on the night sky too. If conditions are right, there may be an opportunity to head out in search of the Northern Lights as an optional extra.
With just eight places, private transport throughout and a wonderful mix of adventure, sightseeing and walking, this is Iceland – Adventure Geek style.

Itinerary
Five days, one incredible country and a lot packed in!
Our itinerary combines Iceland's famous highlights with some proper Adventure Geek experiences. We'll explore on foot, travel through dramatic winter landscapes, venture inside a glacier and discover waterfalls, geothermal wonders and wild black-sand beaches.
Icelandic weather likes to keep everyone on their toes, so the exact running order may change depending on conditions. That's all part of the adventure!
Our Iceland adventure begins!
We’ll fly from the UK to Keflavík International Airport, where our private driver will meet us and whisk us straight off to our first Icelandic experience – the famous Blue Lagoon.
Note: Flights are not included, however we will advise you which flights to book. The advised flights will be from Birmingham or Luton.
After time to relax in the warm geothermal waters, we’ll continue to Reykjavík, check into our hotel and enjoy our first evening in Iceland.

After breakfast, we’ll head out to explore Iceland’s famous Golden Circle.
We’ll start in Þingvellir National Park, where we’ll stretch our legs on a short Adventure Geek hike of around 3 miles / 4.9 km, taking in Öxarárfoss waterfall and the dramatic fissures that run through this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From there, we’ll continue to Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most impressive waterfalls, before visiting the Geysir geothermal area to see bubbling pools, steaming ground and the famous Strokkur geyser.
Later, we’ll return to Reykjavík for our second night.
If the skies are clear, there may also be the chance to join an optional Northern Lights excursion this evening.

Today we’re heading into Iceland’s incredible frozen landscapes.
We’ll travel along the spectacular South Coast to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where huge chunks of glacial ice drift slowly towards the Atlantic.
Next we’ll visit Diamond Beach, where pieces of ancient ice wash onto the black volcanic sand, before experiencing one of the highlights of the trip – a guided ice-cave adventure inside a glacier.
This is a longer travelling day, but with some extraordinary Icelandic scenery and experiences waiting for us along the way.

Today we’ll explore more of Iceland’s spectacular South Coast, with a day of thundering waterfalls, volcanic landscapes and wild Atlantic scenery.
We’ll visit the mighty Skógafoss, explore the dramatic black sands and basalt columns of Reynisfjara Beach, and stop at beautiful Seljalandsfoss, where – if winter conditions allow – it’s possible to walk behind the waterfall itself.
This is Iceland at its wild and wonderful best, with plenty of opportunities to get out, explore and take far too many photographs!

It’s our final day in Iceland, but we’ll make the most of our last few hours before heading home.
Depending on our flight times and the weather, we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy one final Icelandic experience. We’re currently exploring an optional adventure activity for this morning, with details to be confirmed.
We’ll then travel by private transfer to Keflavík International Airport for our flight back to the UK.

This is an active sightseeing adventure rather than a full walking holiday. You should be comfortable walking on uneven ground and in winter conditions. Our planned Þingvellir walk is approximately 3 miles / 4.9 km.
No. Flights are not included in the trip price. We expect to fly from Birmingham or Luton to Keflavík, with details confirmed once flights are released.
Absolutely. Many Adventure Geek travellers join us solo. You can choose a shared room or pay the single supplement for your own room.
If you book a shared room, we'll pair you with another Adventure Geek traveller of the same sex wherever possible. If you're travelling with someone you'd like to share with, just let us know.
The single-room price is £2,530, which is a £345 supplement over the standard shared-room price.
A £250 per person deposit secures your place. Instalment payment options are also available to help spread the cost.
Your balance must be paid by 28 August 2027, 85 days before departure.
Breakfast is included each morning. Lunches, evening meals and drinks are not included, giving you the flexibility to choose where and what you'd like to eat.
No. There may be an opportunity to join an optional Northern Lights excursion if conditions are favourable. Aurora sightings can never be guaranteed.
No. The glacier snowmobile adventure on our final day will be an optional extra. Full details and prices will be provided nearer the time.
November weather in Iceland can be unpredictable. Safety comes first, so routes, activities and the running order may change if weather or road conditions require it. We'll always aim to make the best of the conditions we have.
You'll need proper winter outdoor clothing, waterproofs and good walking boots. A detailed Iceland Winter Packing List will be provided before departure.
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of joining our overseas trips and should cover the activities included in the itinerary, cancellation, medical expenses and repatriation.
This is a deliberately small-group adventure with a maximum of eight guests.
